The sierras of Cordobá located just to the west of the city of Cordobá, are the closest real mountains to Buenos Aires. They are popular in the summer months when Porteños pack up the car and bring the family on vacation. Temperatures in the mountains remain pleasant even in the dead of January. In the winter it can get a bit chilly, but the strong daytime sun makes the lower temperatures more tolerable.
