Carnaval in Gualeguaychu

Gualeguaychu is the site of the biggest Carnaval celebration in Argentina

Gualeguaychú is best known as the site of the biggest Carnival celebration in Argentina. But outside of carnival, when the city fills up and hotel prices go through the ceiling, it is a quaint quiet little town along the Uruguay river. There is a very pleasant park just on the edge of town where you can stroll and feed the ducks.

Where to stay in Gualeguaychú

Oddly enough, there are not a lot of hotels in town. We suppose that the burst of tourism during carnival can’t justify there existence the rest of the year.

There are a couple of campgrounds on route 42 on the other side of the river.
